In 2008 Mark Nelson and his family sold their mixed farming operation in Saskatchewan and moved to Parksville, establishing Pedro's Yard Care. In only two short years, offering comprehensive lawn and garden maintenance services, Pedro's has built up a respectable business that has included work for Qualicum Beach Community Gardens, local businesses in the area, and a growing number of regular faithful customers who appreciate the importance of hard work and honesty.

Mark's experience and passion for landscaping was apparent on his farm in the Battlefords where he had a Saskatoon Berry Orchard and grew Certified Organic Echinacea. His yard was immaculately landscaped with a large variety of trees, grasses, and custom built raised vegetable and flower beds. All planted areas were wood chipped to hold moisture and eliminate weeds. In addition he worked for a local landscaping company during their busy summer months, gaining valuable experience.
